Welcome to Spanish class!

             Hola and Bienvenidos al invierno

I'm sure by now you have heard our new school mantra PRIDE.  I love how it lends itselfs so easily to the World Language classroom. Problem solving by asking for help, Respect by learning about cultural differences. Imaging your best self, letting your self out of your comfort zone and speaking or singing in class.  Determination, having that self talk that you can learn a language and will try!  Laslty showing empathy or kindness in Spanish class is crucial.  We will make mistakes and sometimes say words wrong.  Be kind to each other, help each other to show PRIDE.

In 5th grade we have done some activities for classbuilding, talking about being kind or accepting.  We will begin our weather project soon, using technology art and Spanish.

In 2nd and 4th we are learning about parts of the body, adding in adjectives an will use personality traits too.  We are reading a book in each class that talks about other cultures to emphasizing empathy, kindness to others and learning new things.

k,1st and 3rd are working on weather.

I wanted to incorporate the Chocolate Touch.  We are learning a hand clap game alled chocolate and using a song for chocolat too. visit http://www.dariamusic.com/ . We are usig her bate bate song.  La cucuracha is catchy too.

Lastly, I have paid for a subscription to Rockalingua.  This is a resource we will use in class and students have free acess at home.
